Sales Executive – Small and Medium Enterprise
Calgary, Edmonton
This position is responsible for direct sales in the Alberta region reporting to the Manager, Business Development. The challenge is to aggressively grow net new revenue expanding the base of customers exponentially.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiate and qualify opportunities; manage funnel and close profitable business to meet business objectives and individual targets
- Strong understanding of telecommunication technologies, their applications and positioning relative to business needs, competitive offerings and emerging technologies to educate potential clients on the benefits of Shift and use this knowledge to close the sales
- Proven ability to consistently gain the customer’s acceptance, financial commitment, and support for Shift solutions
- Touch base with prospects as required either in person or via webinar demonstrations
- Demonstrated ability to focus attention on critical goals and results and be held accountable for achieving them
- Strong analytical ability in discerning priority and non-priority issues, making decisions from a number of alternatives based on logic and fact
- Fulfill other duties as required
Minumum Requirements
- 2+ years proven success for direct sales experience in the business telecommunications industry
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of telecommunications solutions as they relate to the Small and Medium Business requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Accomplished presentation skills with the ability to present to internal or external audiences in one-on-one or to large group settings
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently or as part of a team

- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Desired Skills
- Experience with VoIP technology and/or sales of VoIP technology
- Familiarity with sales of business trunks (IP or Analog)
- Sales experience with Nortel, Avaya, Panasonic, and other PBX products and services
- Exceptional organizational, time management and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Dynamic and flexible personality adaptable to various settings
